BIOGRAPHY
With over 30 years in movement science and integrative health, and as co-author of two published books, Cooking for Your Genes and Eat to Heal, Debbi has built an international practice — across South Africa and the UK, in person and online — around a single idea: healthspan over lifespan. Not just living longer, but living better — with steady energy, a settled gut, and a body that keeps working for you as the years go on.
As an Advanced Translational Nutrigenomics practitioner, her work sits at the intersection of molecular biology and real, everyday life.
And food, to Debbi, is never just a delivery system for nutrients. It's pleasure, ritual, and care — for your cells and for your life. No overwhelm, just clarity, one bite-sized decision at a time. A diet plan that tastes like punishment doesn't last. One that feels like nourishment does.
Most people arrive at my door or inbox, already frustrated: they've tried the generic advice, and it hasn't stuck. I specialise in the symptoms that don't have an obvious explanation —
- Energy that won't return, no matter how much sleep or "clean eating" you try
- A gut that won't settle — bloating, reflux, IBS-type symptoms, brain fog
- Skin flare-ups, histamine reactions or unexplained inflammation that standard advice can't touch
- Weight that resists change, often tangled up with stress, hormones, or inflammatory patterns
- Disrupted sleep that no amount of "sleep hygiene" tips seems to fix
My approach is Food First: we build the foundation through real food, daily behaviour and learned habits and then layer in targeted, genetically-informed supplementation where it's needed. The result is a plan that is precise, sustainable and simple to live with.
